The Anti Balaka are loosely organized and mostly Christian "Self Defense" militias in the Central African Republic. As I did with ISIS, White Neur Army, and the ULIMO-J, I will analyze the Anti Balaka based on its appearance of its fighters. The word "Balaka" means "machete" (which is somewhat ironic, since the machete is a common weapon among these fighters), which the significance of that is the weapons of the enemies of the Anti
Balaka is the Islamic Seleka coalition (in fact, the word "Seleka" means "coalition"), is the machete.

The poor weaponry of these fighters show that they have no foreign backing. Most military weapons and clothing seem to be stolen from the corpses of Seleka fighters. |
|
The Anti Balaka are also very tribal. This is shown by the fighters wearing amulets. They believe that the lucky charms would protect them from bullets. |

Again with the weaponry, this man is armed with an improvised firearm. Also shows that the Anti Balaka fighters had to arm themselves. |
